Summary:
The programmer/analyst will work as part of an interdisciplinary team focused on improving patient care by developing front-end web-based technologies and dashboarding solutions as well as systems infrastructure to identify and address operational gaps and improve the patient experience. They will work with a diverse team to develop and present organizational metrics and dashboards, implement online tools such as the patient facing portal, improve processes, and streamline workflows. In this role, they will support the reporting of clinical and operational data for use throughout Roswell Park by executive leadership, clinic operations, marketing, quality improvement, and others. The candidate must possess analytical skills necessary to develop complex programming solutions to difficult problems. The successful candidate will have the ability to understand and translate business and clinic needs and suggest technology solutions, learning clinic workflows and associated database touchpoints as required for effective reporting. This position will be critical to ensure that the various reporting needs are met to assist in transformation efforts to continually improve the way patient care is delivered at all levels of the organization.

Starting salary for this position is $83,550 annually which includes a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications:
Required Education and Experience
1. Master's degree in computer science, engineering, data science, management information systems or a related field; or
2. Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, data science, management information systems or a related field and the equivalent of two (2) years of full-time software development experience; or
3. Associates degree in computer science, engineering, data science, management information systems or a related field and the equivalent of four (4) years of full-time software development experience; or
4. High School diploma or High School Equivalency diploma with a diploma or certificate in a computer science, or related field and the equivalent of six (6) years of full-time software development experience.

Required degrees must have been granted by an accredited school, college or university or one recognized by Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center as following acceptable educational practices.

Preferred Qualifications:

Candidates must have a demonstrated knowledge of front-end web technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript as well as programming experience with server-side web technologies including but not limited to PHP, node, python, etc. Experience with SQL and relational databases and a working knowledge of HTTP protocol and client/server network architecture is desired. They will be knowledgeable in the software development lifecycle and use of version control (git). The preferred candidate will be proficient in a business intelligence tool such as Microsoft Power BI. Previous experience working in a healthcare setting is ideal but not required.
