Responsibilities
The Program Manager - Compensation Systems role will consist of implementing, maintaining, and facilitating ongoing processes and programs in the Compensation and Performance Management modules within Workday. These modules will allow the team to manage day-to-day administration of compensation programs for both union and non-union employee populations, including but not limited to administration of annual performance management, incentive plans and merit programs. This role will also support the team to manage aspects of the day-to-day administration of compensation programs for both union and non-union employee populations, including consultation and advising, analyses, recommendations for offers and other pay actions, job evaluations, market pricing, coordination with internal and external auditors, administration of annual performance management, incentive plan, and merit programs, budgeting, and forecasting, and similar. The ideal candidate will have broad compensation experience and robust Workday implementation experience, partnering with HR colleagues and members of the leadership team to develop and administer creative, timely, data-driven solutions for a variety of business needs.
MAJOR ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Scope of work - range of responsibilities):
Implementation of Workday, Basic Compensation, Advanced Compensation, and Performance Management modules. Lead administration of annual programs in Workday such as performance management, annual incentive, and merit. Consult with HR colleagues and management on compensation factors in various company initiatives, such as succession planning, re-orgs, retention strategies, recruiting, and similar. Interface with management and employees to consult, explain, and provide training on compensation programs and decisions. Utilize internal systems and databases to maintain and compile market pricing and employee data in a confidential and secure manner. Analyze and review offers, recognitions, promotions, and other pay action requests and recommendations. Create presentations summarizing recommendations and findings for a variety of analyses, data requests, and initiatives; present to senior management and/or employees as needed. Manage accurate data analyses of various types, such as merit models, incentive accruals, and compilation of compensation data for ad hoc requests. Complete job evaluation studies and provide organizational and job/title design guidance and recommendations. Job evaluation methodology considers comparable jobs, accountability and complexity as well as market pricing analyses. Support and/or lead compensation projects and respond to special requests as needed. Change agent for organizational initiatives related to compensation, HR, and related. Stay current on relevant Compensation trends, best practices, and regulations, and proactively identify necessary actions. Adhere to effective internal controls.
Skills and Requirements
Education & Experience Required:
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum 5 years of experience in compensation analyses and administration of compensation programs. Strong project management, analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Demonstrated proficiency in Workday, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point. Candidates must be able to perform complex analyses and reporting in Excel (preference of candidates with demonstrated proficiency in vlookup, pivot tables, and conditional formulas). Workday implementation experience. Experience using SAP or similar ERP. Strong attention to detail and ability to include array of relevant factors in decision making and analyses. Knowledge of FLSA and other compensation relevant laws and regulatory requirements. Ability to build strong relationships with internal and external constituents and experience in interacting with all levels of the organization. Strong communication skills; ability to communicate sensitive information and relevant supporting data points with tact, diplomacy, and precision.Preference may be given to candidates with the following: Strong preference for candidates with Workday Compensation Certification. Relevant additional education and/or certifications, such as CCP, SHRM/HRCI, or similar.
