Job Overview:

This position leads complex productivity projects by utilizing the tools of Lean Six Sigma. The primary focus for this position will be in the HYCO, Air Separation (bulk atmospheric gases), and CO2 areas and within the Production, Distribution and Business Value Streams. The individual will identify, prioritize, and implement productivity improvements.

Scope:

This position works under minimal supervision, with guidance in only most complex situations. Responsible for oversight and/or leadership of multiple productivity projects which are broad in nature, often across multiple sites. Demonstrates in-depth knowledge of productivity methodology and processes. Teaches the application of advanced productivity tools and discipline. Overcomes resistance to change. Achieves desired cost impact by skillfully implementing productivity projects. Work well with and learn from stakeholders at various levels, in particular, senior engineering, operations directors/managers, technicians, reliability, distribution and maintenance personnel to align and drive initiatives for operating H2 and ASU plants within the United States. Work with the Global Hydrogen Operations Center (GHoC) to review hydrogen production KPI's and identify causes of variance. Utilize learnings and system interdependencies to improve plant KPI's, identify cost reduction/capital project opportunities, and increase plant profitability.

Reporting Relationships:

This position reports to the Associate Director of Productivity. May train and coach junior level productivity professionals on complex projects. Leads project teams using a variety of productivity tools. May direct others on projects across multiple sites or regions.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Typical annual productivity savings target is 8 to 10 times base salary.
  • Lead a portfolio of six sigma/lean projects of varying complexity annually.
  • Specializes in Six Sigma tools and methodologies to achieve annualized project benefit goals greater than target.
  • Provides productivity support to US HYCO plants (Approx. 26 plants)
  • Translates strategic direction of business unit or division and implements action plans to meet the needs of the business and key stakeholders
  • Solves complex problems; takes broad perspective to identify innovative solutions.
  • Identifies productivity opportunities across the organization.
  • Facilitates idea generation through collaborative efforts (e.g. brainstorming, lean events, and stakeholder engagement)
  • Develops robust event/project strategies with appropriate risk profiles.
  • Establishes a strong leadership presence with project team(s).


Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree (preferably Chemical Engineering) 5+ years of combined experience with project management and demonstrated leadership skills.
  • Must have experience applying statistical principles.
  • Strong analytical skills, interpersonal skills and the ability to influence required.
  • Strong communication skills - written and verbal.
  • Green Belt training or certification preferred.
  • Must be willing to travel at least 25% - 30%.
  • Must be willing to relocate to the Woodlands, TX office.
