We are currently seeking applications to fill the following job opening at Celgard where we develop and manufacture membrane battery separators that are critical components used in lithium-ion batteries for electric drive vehicles (EDVs) and energy storage systems (ESS).

Job Description:

Position Summary

Create and maintain production schedules in order to ensure that all company goals are achieved, and deadlines are met. Must have a strong understanding of the production process and be able to generate and maintain effective schedules and communication. Will need to post schedules, help solve production problems, seek to improve processes, and help fulfill Company expectations.

General Duties of the Job

  • Plan, prepare, maintain and report on performance of the production schedule.
  • Understands production volumes, sequencing and takt time of processes and personnel, to appropriately plan assets to meet and/or balance throughput targets and sales order deadlines.
  • Facilitate actions necessary to create and communicate production plans and information.
  • Analyze production specifications and plant capacity data and performs mathematical calculations to determine manufacturing processes, tools, and human resource requirements.
  • Plans and schedules workflow for each department and operation according to previously established manufacturing sequences and lead times.
  • Acknowledges customer requests for product and provides ready date confirmations to Customer Service. Directs production focus as necessary to meet accepted ship dates, and influence Production Supervisors to ensure availability of personnel resources to meet deadlines.
  • Confers with department managers and/or supervisors to determine status of assigned projects.
  • Expedites operations that delay schedules and alters schedules to meet unforeseen conditions.
  • Development and communication of key performance indicators (KPIs) that are consistent with executive strategies and plant-level performance measures.
  • Knowledge of ERP/MES systems and experience running reports to obtain information needed to succeed, such as open orders, open / closed jobs, raw materials, SF goods, and finished goods inventory.
  • Facilitates production meetings for the effective communication to production technicians, supervision, and engineering of production needs and production plans.
  • Collaborates with Maintenance and I&E teams to schedule time for PM activities within production schedule.

Education
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college and/or significant work experience in manufacturing planning, production or project management.
  • Prior experience in a production planning, logistics and scheduling role (5+ years a plus).
  • Familiarity with Sales & Operation Planning processes including converting forecast and other demand into a master production schedule.

Qualifications
  • 2+ years of manufacturing experience as a Production Scheduler
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel & Word required
  • Prior experience in production planning function a plus
  • Knowledge of MES and ERP systems, especially ShopFloor and AX. Able to learn, use and master a system to support the business.
  • Capable of working autonomously with strong influencing skills to help drive customer demands within the business
  • Ability to multitask across several production areas
  • Highly self-motivated and enthusiastic with a methodical approach and good attention to detail
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Ability to effectively manage and resolve changing and/or competing priorities
  • Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills a must. Interacts with Sales, Engineering, and Production Management & staff daily
