As a senior payments product manager at Venmo, you will play the lead role in transforming the payments and disputes platforms to meet the growing needs of Venmo products and services.

The Venmo payments and disputes platforms sit at the core of all Venmo products facilitating payments for the entirety of the Venmo ecosystem, providing our customers instant, friction-free access to their money.

Your way to Impact

As a product manager on Venmo payments and disputes,you will help design, shape, and drive payments & disputes solutions to enable our partners to deliver incredible customer experiences.

While your primary objective is to act as the subject matter expert on disputes, driving the strategy, vision, and implementation of dispute resolution capabilities, all while maintaining our unwavering dedication to outstanding customer service; you'll also contribute to the creation of innovative, scalable, and resilient payments and recovery solutions, aimed at providing frictionless customer experiences.

In this role, you'll collaborate closely with multifaceted teams, including engineering, design, legal, and customer support, to ensure our product not only fulfills customer needs but also aligns seamlessly with our business objectives.

Additionally, you'll continuously monitor market dynamics, competitor landscapes, and regulatory shifts. Your insights will guide our product strategy, guaranteeing that our disputes management solution remains not only competitive but also fully compliant with industry standards.

Your day-to-day

In your day-to-day role you will

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive product strategy for the dispute platform, aligning with company objectives and market demands.
  • Track product performance by establishing key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics; and identify areas for optimization.
  • Mentor, and support teams that handles dispute intake and resolution processes, for banking and card acquiring functions.
  • Execute step-level changes by converging dispute functions and processes.
  • Define and maintain a product roadmap that outlines key initiatives, features, and timelines, considering customer feedback, market trends, and business priorities.
  • Collaborate with engineering, design, legal, and customer support teams to drive the development, testing, and release of product features, ensuring alignment with product vision and requirements, investigate issues, and fix product bugs.
  • Champion a user-centric approach to product development, collaborating with design teams to deliver intuitive and seamless user experiences that streamline disputes management processes.
  • Define and execute testing strategies to ensure product quality, reliability, and compliance with regulatory requirements, working closely with QA teams to identify and address issues.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor offerings, and regulatory changes related to disputes management, leveraging insights to inform product strategy and maintain competitiveness.

What do you need to bring-
  • 5+ years of experience in financial services with deep working knowledge of e-commerce payments and disputes methodologies.
  • 3+ years of experience in leading the development of technical products and large-scale platforms with high-reliability requirements.
  • Deep understanding of the ACH and card network dispute management rules, response codes, and recommended responses.
  • Working knowledge of Regulation E and Regulation Z compliance.
  • Data-driven, enthusiastic, and passionate about agile product management, to deliver breakthrough consumer experiences.
  • Proven experience executing a transformational product strategy while successfully tackling ambiguity independently.
  • Strong technical background and ability to understand and work with
    • API design based on internal and external requirements,
    • Defining and setting up platform metrics and monitoring,
    • Defining and understanding integration requirements with external platforms.
  • Excellent people and communication skills are essential. The candidate should have the ability to develop strong working relationships at all levels of management, both inside and outside of PayPal.
