The role sits on the Americas Procurement Category team reporting to the Senior Director of Oncology Procurement, Global & US. The role will work with the Global Procurement Category Team for the categories under its responsibility and coordinate with the Oncology Business Unit (OBU) marketers; ensuring strong and collaborative relationships are built and maintained to define the category strategies and lead the category plans execution. The role is focused on supporting both the Global and US markets within top Commercial categories such as Media, Advertising, Meetings & Events, etc.

The Procurement Specialist will work with relevant Procurement peers and Marketers to manage a spend category and help develop long-term strategic plans for the entire spend area within the Oncology Business Unit. He/She will work closely with customers and suppliers to ensure that Category Strategies are highly aligned to current and future Business needs and that the supply base is capable of supporting these strategies. Additionally, the role will be responsible for managing the implementation of category plan to ensure that the underpinning process improvement and procurement activities deliver the expected business value in accordance with the strategic plans.

What you will do:

  • Oversees the implementation of category or subcategory plan
  • Ensures that the underpinning process improvement and procurement activities deliver the expected business value in accordance with the strategic plans
  • Supports the regional or global Associate Director / Manager in the development of long term strategic plans for agreed scope of spend area
  • Supports the regional or global Associate Director / Manager in strategic relationship management, particularly of customers and suppliers, to ensure that category strategies are highly aligned to current and future business need and that the supply base is capable of supporting these strategies
  • Analyses and resolves issues raised in procurement audit reports
  • Advises on contracts and agreements for the supply of products and services with new and existing suppliers
  • Develops, evaluates, or manages internal and external relationships with suppliers and other cross-functional teams
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • 1+ years of experience in procurement or commercial operations
  • Strong communication and influencing skills
  • Project management
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Understanding of multiple aspects of the procurement process
