We are looking for a hardworking and enthusiastic Process Architect to join our Custom Quoting team to help us develop and deliver world class proposals and strategic technical solutions that grow business to meet organizational goals.

THE ROLE

Plan and Deliver Custom Technical Solutions.

  • Utilize Comar’s Custom Quoting Process to organize, plan and deliver high quality, fully planned end-to-end solutions that meet customer expectations and internal corporate objectives.
  • Create and design large scale, cross-functional, and often complex manufacturing processes from receipt of material to product arriving at our ship to locations. Be able to evaluate a received request, design and engineer a complete system solution for manufacturing that will enable Comar to be a leader in this competitive manufacturing space. This includes equipment selection, required cavitation, tooling strategy, manufacturing equipment, automated and manual assembly lines.
  • Oversee and direct subject matter experts, industry contacts and communicate priority activities.
  • Receive quote requests and new project opportunities, then transform into overall process maps identifying labor content, equipment needs, cycle times, target efficiencies, and risk mitigation steps.
  • Collaborate with outside supplier resources for tooling, inspection equipment, automations, and manufacturing equipment to include costs in proposals.
  • Use industry experience and best engineering judgement to make and document appropriate costing assumptions.
  • Assist the Quoting Engineers in providing end-to-end manufacturing solutions using technical knowledge. Including Comar and Customer capital expenses, communication of cost to manufacture, recommendation on pricing, and approval negotiation assistance.
  • Lead or assist in selecting appropriate supplier partners and gain pricing for raw materials and physical assets including but not limited to: molding presses (injection and blow), ancillary equipment, purchased components, plastic resins, packaging, tooling, automations, facilities impacts, transit, inspection equipment, and value-add equipment.
  • Determine appropriate manufacturing strategies and targets including tooling cavitation, tooling technologies, cycle times, scrap rates, efficiencies, labor allocations, packaging configurations, and inspection requirements.
  • Assist in providing the quoting engineers with presentation quality proposals, line layouts, equipment schematics, and process flows.
  • Identify and solve systems related and technical barriers effectively.
  • Identify, communicate, and develop plan to mitigate potential project related risks.


Assist Sales Managers to Close and Win New Business
  • Provide clear, concise, and thorough solutions and proposals that align with customer expectations, reduce errors, and improve win rate %.
  • Assist engineering team members and project managers to develop project budgets, AFE (Authorization for Expenditure) submissions, and transfer of knowledge during project strategy planning and kickoff phases.
  • Support Customer Request for Proposal (RFP) process. Develop detailed proposals and presentations.
  • Extensive inter-department interaction with sales, marketing, operations, engineering, and customers.
  • Consult on selection of supplier partners and internal teams.
  • Support Sales Managers in providing proposals, presentations, and communications during submission phase.
  • Support Sales Managers in providing clarifying answers and value propositions to customers during negotiation phase.
  • Respond to Voice Of the Customer requests and process support.
  • Developing Engineering solutions to technical problems.
  • Build integrity and credibility at all levels. Drive continued process improvements, utilizing functional teams.
  • Communicate status through update meetings, Salesforce data entry and tracking, and data analysis type tools with team and stake holders.


Technical Support
  • Provide Technical Support to Product Development, Program/Project Managers, Operations as well as Commercial Organization and serve as internal Technical Expert.
  • Act as a key resource to answer or find answer to Engineering, Operations or Commercial questions related to proposed technical solution.
  • Develop knowledge and keep up to date on technology through training, seminars, vendors, trade shows, etc.
  • Develop and maintain User Requirement Specifications (URS) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s).
  • Research and apply best practices.


­­WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
  • Bachelor’s degree from four-year College or University in Plastics Technology, Engineering, or related field, with a minimum of four (4) years of engineering or technical manufacturing experience in the plastics industry.


Preferred:
  • Medical, Healthcare production experience.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
  • 3D solid modeling software, Salesforce, value stream mapping, process architecture.


DO YOU HAVE…?
  • A strong knowledge of plastic processing equipment and plastic materials, including injection molding, injection blow molding, and extrusion molding.
  • Mold and tooling design understanding related to plastic processing.
  • Strong leadership qualities and ability to define requirements for project risks.
  • Excellent presentation, speaking, and technical writing skills with the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
  • Ability to interact with individuals at all levels of the organization, including communication of complex projects in straightforward terms.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, database administration, Salesforce, with specific ability to manage and create complex spreadsheets in Microsoft Excel.
  • Willingness to travel approximately 30% to visit corporate, plant, customer or supplier locations.
