Job Summary:

Negotiates, structures and/or administers contractual/compliance/technical product/price-book documents and establish business relationships with NA local vendors for purchasing goods/services on behalf of our Private Label brands. Assist Product Category to identify niche market and product gaps based on global sourcing strategy and Asia sourcing line card comparison. Lead operational tasks and participate in cross-functional team to drive sales, product quality performance and Net Promotion Score.

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Participate in the development of research, schedules, assess and collecting of the PL supplier certification documentation for meeting compliance standards in the global market, mirroring processes setup with those conducting by SSG team in Asia
  • Assist in identifying best global sourcing opportunities, aligning with the product category teams and working with Asia sourcing teams to source, quality check and compiling the information required to add the products
  • In conjunction with suppliers, achieve key performance metrics within the region on sales, margin, customer acquisition, payment terms, contract negotiation and value extraction.
  • Negotiates favorable terms and volume discounts that comply with company policies and procedures, compliance, legal requirements and/or other specifications.
  • Researches sources of supply. Identifies and evaluates sole source validity and methods of procurement action. Conduct research and identify an existing product on the market which carries competitive technology (process or algorithm) and has great market acceptance. Develop a set of key requirement parameters
  • Manage the application, budget, and maintenance of multiple listings database for UL, CSA, TUV, and other compliance related projects
  • Develop and maintain effective supplier auditing approaches (CSR, factory inspection, goods inspection, etc.) to ensures product compliance, liability risks are managed and mitigated
  • Support product complaints or queries - coordinate with supplier, sales and other functional teams to resolve issues
  • Provides administrative oversight for supplier performance. Works with internal and external departments/representatives. Initiates corrective action where suppliers are not performing to expectation.

Job Level Specifications:
  • Thorough knowledge of principles, theories and concepts in area of discipline. Competent in all job functions and has general understanding of the industry practices, techniques and standards.
  • Develops solutions for a variety of situations and works on projects requiring evaluation and analysis. May refer to policies, practices and precedents for guidance; determines best course of action to achieve results.
  • Work is performed independently and requires the exercise of judgment and discretion. May receive some limited guidance for new assignments. Work may be reviewed for overall adequacy.
  • Collaborates with management and team members within the department/function and other areas of the organization. May represent department internally or externally.
  • Actions may impact the success of the overall department and/or the organization. Failure to accomplish work or erroneous decisions may result in delays to projects, loss of revenue or allocation of additional resources to remedy.

Work Experience:
  • Typically 3+ years with bachelor's or equivalent.

Education and Certification(s):
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience from which comparable knowledge and job skills can be obtained.
