Job Description:

The Workshop team is the advanced product design team within PayPal and will focus on conceptualizing, prototyping, and testing next-generation experiences. The team operates with a mid-term vision, balancing groundbreaking innovation and feasibility, desirability, and viability for commercialization and adoption. We are a think/make environment, driven to answer the why and how customers experience products and services. We use design and prototyping to guide early product development, bring greater clarity to engineering goals, and develop an experience-grounded point of view.

Expect an immersive, fast-paced environment, overseeing multiple projects, while flexing your skills as an effective communicator - especially when it comes to relaying creative concepts to our design teams and company stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Design leadership - drivebest practicesinprocess and methodology and deliveragainst business and customer needs
  • GuideUX efforts across teams, including strategy, planning,working with cross-functional partners to remove blockers andpresenting effectively tosenior staff andstakeholders
  • Leverage andextendthe use ofdesign system, style guides, patterns and assetsin the creation of UXdeliverables
  • Contribute to thewider UXcommunity,mentoringothers, leveraging your strengths to help others grow
  • Ensure that all the organization's output/visuals are consistent with the overall brand and strategic commitments.
  • Apply a customer-focused, iterative design process.
  • Make design decisions based on research and insights, as well as advocate for continuous learning and inclusive design best practices.
  • Collaborate with other cross-functional Design team members (Research, Content Design, UX Operations, Branding) and Business and Engineering stakeholders.

Requirements

  • 10 to 12+ years in UX role, bachelor's and/or master's degree in the study of user experience, design, research or related fields or equivalent professional experience
  • Thorough command of the UX lifecycle with deep, direct experience in all skill areas and tools, including facilitation of workshops or other collaboration techniques to drive momentum and credibility within the organization
  • Complete UXskillset,to deliverexcellenceacross products and platforms,mobile apps,financial services expertise an advantage
  • Experience leading delivery, through feedback, design critique, presentation to program sponsors, planning and coordinating with partners where needed
  • Familiarityand experience with standard designandprototyping tools, such as Figma, Framer, and Miro
  • High degree of craft, taste, and product intuition, with a keen eye towards future trends, emerging technology, and shifting customer expectations
  • Experience managing multiple projects and working through ambiguity.
  • Ability to work cross-team and synthesize feedback from multiple teams/owners.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational skills and a relentless attention to detail.
  • Compelling storyteller who can educate as well as entertain.
