Position Title: Press Operator - NIGHT

Business Unit: Flooring North America Department: Press

Primary Objective: Safely monitors and produces a quality product to documented standards.

Major Function and Scope:

• Complies with all company safety rules and procedures.
• Monitors product and process to ensure quality of product to documented procedures; takes action to minimize non-conforming products
• Monitors and adjusts machine parameters as needed to ensure proper product alignment for embossed-in-register requirements and physical core/décor alignment.
• Performs regular quality tests and measurements using proper procedures, gauges, and tools
• Patrols the Press line to ensure efficiency and utilization goals are met/exceeded.
• Helps to identify issues affecting line performance and escalate as needed
• Supports maintenance efforts on the equipment to assure timely resolution of problems
• Understands equipment and product set-up requirements to perform efficiently
• Coordinates and executes production according to published schedule.
• Resolves small alarms on the Press line to maximize uptime
• Performs required PM.
• Loads, unloads and moves material using forklift.
• Performs required housekeeping.
• Attend any job-related training deemed necessary by supervision
• Perform other tasks assigned by management

Type of Experience and Knowledge:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 3+ years of manufacturing experience in a fast-paced work environment
• 3+ years of experience with automated machines
• 3+ years of experience adjusting machine to produce quality product
• Forklift experience or willingness to learn to operate forklift
• Basic math skills
• Basic computer skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Competencies:

• Ability to read and comprehend manuals used in the plant.
• Perform mathematical calculations, including conversion to metric systems.
