PRESIDENT
Columbia Theological Seminary, an educational ministry of the Presbyterian Church (USA) located in Decatur, GA announces its search for the school's 11th President.
Columbia Theological Seminary was founded by a regional group of Presbyterian pastors in 1828, and for nearly 200 years has educated faithful, imaginative, and effective leaders to serve the Church and the world. The Seminary's well-known strengths include a compelling mission, rich tradition of academic excellence, remarkable faculty and staff, deep commitment to justice and diversity, beautiful campus, and significant endowment. Working from this strong foundation, the Seminary stands ready to address the future at a time of change and transition for the Church, the Seminary, and the world they are called to serve.
The next President will have the opportunity to work with the Seminary community in articulating a vision for the future, shaping the educational program, and becoming a more diverse and fully inclusive community. The President will play a key role in building relationships and partnerships with the Seminary's many constituencies, and in leading an anticipated capital campaign. Candidates for the Presidency will be persons who are "in ordered ministry" in the Presbyterian Church (USA), or those willing to become credentialed in the PC(USA). Other selection criteria include commitment to the Seminary's mission, theological depth, a pastoral leadership presence, intercultural competence and diversity experience, and exceptional leadership and communication ability.
