What You Will Be Doing As a pre-construction estimator, you will need to have a thorough understanding of construction principles and techniques, as well as experience working with construction plans and specifications. You should have strong analytical skills and be able to accurately assess the materials and labor needed for a project, as well as any potential challenges or risks that may impact the project's cost.

Some specific responsibilities of a pre-construction estimator may include:

-Reviewing project plans and specifications to understand the scope of work and materials needed for the project
-Analyzing and determining the cost of materials, labor, and other expenses required for the project
-Preparing detailed cost estimates that outline the expected expenses for the project
-Communicating with project stakeholders, including clients, architects, and engineers
-Reviewing and negotiating contracts with suppliers and subcontractors
-Collaborating with project teams to identify cost-saving opportunities and optimize project budgets
