The Physical Therapy Department at University of Miami has an exciting opportunity for a Post Doctoral Associate.

SUMMARY

The Post Doctoral Associate (N) performs scientific research and studies under the supervision of managing staff. Moreover, the Post Doctoral Associate (N) promotes institutional recognition through literal contributions to the scientific community.

CORE JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Conducts research on specific areas of study as assigned.
  • Prepares research reports and technical papers for publishing.
  • Investigates the feasibility of applying a wide variety of scientific principles and theories.
  • Maintains substantial knowledge of state-of-the-art principles and theories.
  • Develops advanced analytical models and systems and provides solutions and analyses to support strategic and tactical decisions.
  • Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

Education:

MD or Ph.D. in relevant field

Experience:

DEPARTMENT ADDENDUM

Department Specific Functions

The Department of Physical Therapy is looking to hire a Post-Doctoral Associate to assist for a limited funded Department of Defense (DoD) grant. The Post-Doctoral Associate will plan, coordinate, direct and evaluate the research activities in this study. This position is a restricted position and is contingent upon grant funding for continuing employment.

The successful candidate will be primarily responsible for the following responsibilities:
  • Managing the day-to-day operations of the project under the guidance of study the Lead/Co-Investigator and Principal Investigator.
  • Assist in subject recruitment including, but not limited to identifying and scheduling participants for the study.
  • Collection and analysis of participant data and assist in dissemination of project results.
  • Supervision and train Graduate Research Assistants (GRAs).
  • Assisting with additional research activities including maintaining Human Subjects approvals and coordinating with the Research Study Coordinator.
  • Prepares research reports and technical papers for publishing.
  • Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

Department Specific Qualifications

Education:
  • Student Physical Therapist (SPT), Physical Therapist (PT) or Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT)
