Baylor Scott and White Division of Plastic Surgery, Department of Surgery is seeking an experienced Division Director of Plastic Surgery in the fast growing, flagship Temple, TX region.  Candidates must be Board Certified with surgical leadership capabilities. They must have clinical, administrative, and leadership experience, with a focus to help expand upon a strong, full service, aesthetic and reconstructive service, 5 years or more of plastic surgery clinical practice and leadership experience preferred. 

 

 

The Opportunity:

·   Position will assist with strategic leadership and collaboration in Plastic Surgery services, including all subspecialties: breast reconstruction, head and neck reconstruction, hand surgery, trunk and lower extremity trauma reconstruction, lymphatic surgery, body contouring surgery, cosmetic surgery, and general plastic surgery in the Temple/Waco region, as well as coordinating and collaborating with our plastic surgery colleagues in Round Rock and Bryan/College Station.

·  Lead team of 7 fellowship trained plastic surgeons and their support staff.

·  Well established, accredited, cutting edge integrated plastic surgery residency program approved for two residents per year.  Our program is one of four competency-based as opposed to time-based training programs in the United States.

·    Active Microsurgery and Research fellowships

·    Developing junior staff/faculty.

·  Academic appointment at the appropriate level through Texas A&M College of Medicine will be determined by experience and qualifications. Proven track record of academic accomplishments and professional service necessary to ensure the continuation and enhancement of plastic and reconstructive services.

·    Privileges at our ACS verified Level I Trauma facility in Temple, TX.

·    Free-standing Cosmetic Surgery Center with the opportunity to develop and expand a cosmetic surgery service line in cooperation with colleagues.

QUALIFICATIONS:

- Doctorate Degree in Medicine

- Licensed to Practice Medicine in the state of Texas by the Texas Medical Board

- Where Applicable - Employee shall be currently board certified in his or her speciality or demonstrate board of the American Board of Medical Specialties or the Bureau of Osteopathic Specialists
