Job Description

Location: Baltimore MD

Security Clearance:

Must be a US Citizen eligible for a DoD Secret Clearance.

Job Summary:

Collaborate on new product development efforts to perform modeling, analysis, and measurement of design requirements. Additional duties will include assisting in the design of sensors, communications, and other technologies, as required. Work will be performed in a laboratory environment with a variety of moderate to complex tasks and functional activity.

Key Responsibilities:

New technology modeling, analysis, and design

• Bachelors Degree in Physics
• Assist in the development of novel new designs of critical components for contracts and internal R&D projects
• Perform modeling and analysis of technology components to ensure functionality
• Perform on contract development work
• Ability to think outside of the box
• Assist in writing reports, operational documentation, and other documents as required.
• Familiarity with laser and precision optics handling.
• Ability to work with test equipment including oscilloscopes, optical power meters, laser beam analyzers, etc.
• Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

Excellent communication and problem solving skills, attention to detail and accuracy, solid judgment and decision-making ability, takes initiative and is adaptable.

• 3-5yrs experience
• A bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Physics, Optics, or other related field.
• Experience with opto-electronics or Research and Development experience is a plus.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel, COMSOL Multi-Physics, SolidWorks, Mathematica software is desirable.
• Modeling and Analysis - Demonstrates ability to deliver excellence by taking personal accountability for achieving high quality outcomes.
• Ability to design, model, and analyze conceptual designs to validate products under development.

Physical Requirements:

Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods of time. Position may require typing and reading from a computer screen. Must have sufficient mobility, including but not limited to bending, reaching, and kneeling to complete daily duties in a timely and efficient manner. There is a possibility that due to parking availability and location of work, walking moderate to long distance may be required. Possible lifting up to 50 lbs.
