Position Summary:

Patient Companion works under the direction of a RN and provides close observation of patients. A Patient Companion is expected to assist in the provision of a safe and clean environment and promote therapeutic interaction and assistance with daily living activities. 12 hour day shifts (7am-7:30pm), every third weekend or we have options for part time and relief.

Relief - must complete 32 hours per month minimum

What Patient Companion will do:
  • Provides assistance with daily living activities under the direction of a RN
  • Positions self in patient rooms at the bedside to maintain constant observation of the patient
  • Provides comfort, safety and satisfaction to patient while maintaining a clean and orderly environment

What Patient Companionwill need:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide a safe environment and therapeutic environment based on the age of patients served.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span.
  • Possess the ability to communicate observed changes in behavior/activity to the RN.
