Job Summary

The START intern is responsible for supporting the administration and details related to the Student Agile Response Team ( START ) initiative. The START initiative collects project requests from nonprofits and businesses across Indiana and connects students who volunteer their time and skills for the purpose of achieving the project goals. This initiative is driven by a core committee of staff from all IU Bloomington schools with leadership from IU Corps and the Center for Rural Engagement. This position will work closely with all of these entities, including students. This position provides the intern with an opportunity to develop transferable skills in project management, data tracking, new technologies, and administration.

Position tasks include, but are not limited to: Creating, organizing, and tracking START project tasks within Microsoft Teams. Tracking student progress on projects and updating information in data tracker. Managing multiple projects and priorities for efficient workflow. Attending community project meetings and taking notes. Assisting with capturing student metrics. Providing feedback on project progress and areas of improvement. Providing progress reports on projects and communicating any barriers to completion with supervisor.

Required Qualifications

Currently enrolled as a student at Indiana University.

Strongly developed organizational skills. Basic computer skills including skills in typing and Microsoft Office programs. Project management skills, excellent customer service and professional communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Proficiency using Excel, Airtable, Google Apps, etc.
