The Title:

Packaging Team Support I

The Role:
The packagingteam memberis responsible foreffectively working with their team and followingdaily work instructions.ThePackaging Departmentis responsibleforpackingproductsfor ourrestaurants andgrocery stores.Initially, work will consist ofvery specifictasks, with the potential to learn how tooperatemachinery and advance in your role.You willhelpset upthe packaging lines,feed production equipment,place packaged products in bins,andparticipatein the end-of shift sanitation and cleaning activities.You willfollowcompany recipes and procedures to ensure production consistency.You will follow quality and safety standards.You will also collaborate with cross functional departments to ensuretimelyand efficient production.

WhatYou'llDo:

  • Set upthepackagingarea and equipment for production
  • Assist with the packaging of post-high-pressure-processed products, including lidding, labeling, casing and palletizing operations.
  • Transport raw materials and finished goods between the warehouse and packaging area using a manual or electric pallet jack
  • Visually inspect packagedproductsand ensureall productsare properlylabeled and packaged
  • Assist the team withgeneral sanitation activities following product changeovers and at the end of the production shift.
  • Partner with the team to ensuretimelyand efficient production to embrace collective ambition
  • Prepare documentation (written or digital) as required for food safety, quality and production tracking activities
  • Adhere to all safety guidelines (both personnel and food safety-related) and good manufacturing practices
  • Take initiative on designated responsibilities without needing reminders from managers
  • Abide by policies and procedures that support the service mindset
  • Manage timeline expectations within and across teams, deliver on our responsibilities accordingly
  • Earn the trust of Team Members and Managers by consistently embracing CAVA's values
  • Show discipline in bringing consistent performance, communication, and attitude to the job every day
  • Actively contribute to your department in order to complete tasks and meet company goals
  • Recognize the emotional stake each Team Member has in personal and organizational success of this business
TheQualifications:

  • Food processing/packaging experience preferred
  • Youmust be able to begin work between6:30am and7am Monday through Thursdayand you must be able to work up to 11 hours per day.
  • We target 4 days and40 hours.
  • You mustdemonstrateproper clock management andmaintaina strongattendance.
  • You must beable to read and followpackaging instructionsand procedures(in English or Spanish) to ensure the batches are made correctly.
  • You mustmaintainclose concentration andvisual attention to assigned tasks.
  • You must be willing and able to follow instructions.
  • You musthave good verbal communication skills.
  • You must be willing and able to work efficiently and with alacrity.
  • You must have some familiarity with smart phones, tablets, and email.
Physical Requirements:

  • Physical dexterity, ability lift up to 45lbs.and push/pullrollingheavy carts, and containers.
  • The ability to work in varied environmental conditions (dry, cold)
  • The ability to stand for 8 to 10 hours a day
  • Must be able toidentify, assess andobservedetailand follow instructions
  • Ability to communicate with others and exchange information accurately and effectively.
  • Ability to squat, kneel, bend and twist
  • Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner
Allergens: We prepare products with milk and sesamecontainingingredients.Team members must be able to work with these ingredients.
