Intrado's Life & Safety team is hiring an Oracle Database Administrator to join our team in Longmont, CO!

Intrado's Life & Safety division is responsible for some critical parts of our everyday life. Our solutions are responsible for everything that happens after a 9-1-1 call is placed - call routing, delivery, location determination and data management. Whether you call from a landline, cell phone or text 9-1-1, we make sure first responders get the right information at the right time so they can save lives.

As an Oracle DBA with Intrado, you will be responsible for providing a quality, high performance database processing environment by defining assigned database tables and coordinating physical changes to computer databases in a timely manner while adhering to established departmental standards and procedures

MAJOR JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Provide high performance database processing environment by defining assigned database tables, queries, stored procedures, views, etc., coordinating physical changes to computer databases in a timely manner while adhering to established departmental standards and procedures
  • Assist with the tuning and performance of the database environment, determining optimum values for database attributes
  • Monitor hardware resource utilization, recommending to management additional hardware necessary for forecasted levels, working with staff to maximize performance
  • Select and enter codes of utility program to monitor database performance such as distribution of data and amount of available memory, making necessary modifications to decrease database response times and increase processing performance
  • Perform testing of designed transaction processing environment, testing for performance, stability, fail over, and new database versions
  • Keep up - to - date on current and new releases of database platforms and technology, planning migration strategy accordingly
  • Assist in the development of scripts, documentation, and procedures for database administration, testing, and production
  • Ensure data integrity and security according to departmental standards and procedures
  • Identify back up plan and content to ensure data is protected, ensuring data recovery is available and restored in a timely manner
  • May be required to ensure backups do not exceed configured space, which may include ensuring adequate back up media exist
  • Define and monitor user permissions to ensure data is protected from unauthorized users

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Applicant for this job will be expected to meet the following minimum qualifications. Education
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in computer science, information systems, electrical engineering, computer engineer or a related field is required
  • Equivalent work experience in a similar position may be substituted for educational requirements

Experience

  • Minimum 4+ year experience in computer science or MIS required, including Oracle database administration experience.

Technical Knowledge

  • Based on area of responsibility and departmental need knowledge of one program platform (Tandem, OS, Windows, Linux/UNIX) is required
  • Expertise in Oracle database is required.
  • Based on area of responsibility and departmental need knowledge of one or more of the following may be preferred: SQL fundamentals (e.g., Tandem SQL, Informix, FOCUS, IBM DB2, NT SQL Server, etc.), SQL Server 2008 Administration, performance optimization & tuning, ETL (SSIS), SSRS, experience with Oracle database systems
  • Based on area of responsibility and department needs minimum 3 years using database management software (e.g., MySQL, etc.) to include design and management as well as replication and clustering experience preferred
  • Knowledge in AWS RDS databases may be preferred

For candidates located in Colorado, the hiring range for this position is anticipated between $90,000-$100,000 per year and will be commensurate with experience.
