SUMMARY
Responsible for the development of master production plans and schedules that meet the Marketing and Sales programs, and provide the expected customer service at the lowest cost. Evaluate constrained supply and unconstrained demand and create supply plans to maximize capacity utilization and revenue opportunities that support production, procurement (ingredients and packaging materials), transportation and distribution while minimizing the risk of obsolescence across locations.

Manage the planning, scheduling and coordination of co-packing activities including production, inventories and transfers. Maintaining the manufacturing side of ERP/MRP (DMS) and product cost integrity, provide user and system troubleshooting support with issues involving resources, models, standard costs and transactions, provide support in the preparation of manufacturing budgets and cost analysis, maintain current descriptions of the tasks and procedures for this position, and provide training on DMS manufacturing related issues to others when necessary.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Develop intermediate and long range production plans, working closely with Marketing, Sales, Production, Procurement, Logistics and Customer Services personnel.
a) Project production volume requirements based on sales plan, historical sales, promotion grids, inventories and production capacity constraints.
b) Complete weekly planning cycle for all In-Network plants
c) Determine monthly, weekly or daily (as required) feed stock requirements for each facility and coordinate with Commodities Procurement.
d) Determine and coordination with the Procurement department the requirements of Materials, ingredients, and Packaging based on the sales Latest Estimate and production schedules. Alert the buyers of any extraordinary promotional event or production schedule not included in the sales Latest Estimate that could impact the availability of materials.

2. Plan in collaboration with appropriate functional areas inventory levels that satisfy customer service level for product availability and minimize production, transportation and warehousing costs.
a) Proactively identify and contain potential issues that may negatively impact the company's ability to meet its customer's expectations.
b) Plan and track the increases and reductions of feed stock inventories and recommend adjustments.
c) Prepare weekly Supply Chain reports and conduct weekly conference call to review finished goods inventories at major whse locations and inventory positions at manufacturing locations.

3. Management, coordination and activity recording of Co-Packer(s) activity. Determine production volumes and ensure that raw materials are available in a timely fashion at the co-packer's facility when applicable.
a) Enter PR/DI transactions for production activity.
b) Monitor co-packer inventories of both FG and materials.
c) Create shipping orders to move inventories among Riviana warehouses.
d) Assure that production/delivery schedules are met by co-packers. Coordinate with commodities that contracts are issued.

4. Responsible for the integrity & maintaining MRP and the manufacturing side of DMS
a) Participate in the NPPR (Product Change Notice) process and encourage/request that all involved are part of it.
b) Monitor current information on material numbers, BOM's, recipes, warehouse/locations, MRP fields, and any other manufacturing related requirement in DMS.

5. Provides support in the development of operating budgets for various out of network manufacturing units.
a) Suggest BOM's and recipes changes as needed.
b) Estimates packaging labor, materials and machine time requirements.

6. Plan in collaboration with appropriate functional areas for new item production launch
a) Coordinate and manage the new item process for item setup and commercialization for In-Network manufacturing sites
b) Through the use of usage variance reports, monitors materials usage, alerts of excessive materials losses and recommends standard changes.

7. Special projects and assignments as needed.

Minimum Requirements: (subject to reasonable accommodation for disability). Indicate the qualification generally required for competent performance of the job duties/essential functions.

Knowledge - The accumulated knowledge required.

(A) Education

B.S/B.A. Industrial Engineering or Supply Chain and Operations Management preferred.

(B) Prior work experience

Minimum of 7 years of industrial engineering or supply chain operations in a manufacturing company using MRP and/or standard costing [Material Master, Production Planning]

(C) Certificates and/or licenses

APICS certifications is a plus

Skills/Abilities - The combined skills and abilities, which include:

(A) Physical and/or mental requirements (handling of materials, working positions - lifting, climbing, degree of problem solving, communicating - orally, writing, calculating, reading comprehension...)

Candidate must have excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with multiple company departments and personnel.
Candidate must have advanced analytical skills and use of software packages to accomplish such.
Candidate should be able to operate effectively within a team and under pressure.

(B) Equipment Used (types of equipment/tools or process used)

Candidate must possess advanced PC business application software skills. (spread sheet, database, graphics display)

(C) Working Conditions (environment - frequency and intensity of exposure to elements in daily work environment - heat, cold, noise, etc.)

Travel requirements 10-30%
