Your Role:

At MilliporeSigma the Operator Manufacturing 2 produces and purifies chemical compounds to meet the demands and requirements of our customers.

Responsibilities:

  • Safely perform operations to meet quality expectations
  • Identify unsafe conditions and correct them. Complete Safety Observation/Near Miss Report with suggestions to improve/prevent condition
  • Participate in incident investigations and safety meetings
  • Achieve defined personal development goals
  • In compliance with change control procedures, improve processes through application of industry knowledge, experience, and principles
  • Check and update systems and SAP as required
Physical Attributes:
  • Wearing appropriate protective gear, (hard hats, glasses/goggles, chemical resistant suits, gloves, safety shoes) and other personal protection equipment "PPE" to protect from toxic or corrosive chemicals in the forms of liquids, solids, vapors or airborne particles
  • Working in outdoor weather conditions while moving material, filling material and waste handling
  • Lifting and/or moving to 50 pounds unassisted and ability to push and pull heavy materials to complete assignment. Lifting more poundage with assistance
  • Utilize close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth vision, and the ability to adjust focus

Who You Are:

Basic Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent with 3+ years' experience in ­­­­­­­­­­­­manufacturing

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Associate's degree in Chemistry or related Scientific discipline
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Basic mathematical skills
  • Ability to read and understand written protocols
  • Basic understanding of chemical reactions and hazards
  • Ability to operate hand tools, lab equipment, calculator and weighing and measuring devices
  • Basic understanding of ISO and quality systems
