We are seeking an Operations and Maintenance Generalist to join our federal team at our Rand Site location in Santa Monica, CA.

Shift: First Shift. Hours will be around 9:00am - 5:00pm, Monday-Friday.

As an O&M Generalist, you will:

  • Performs general maintenance and repair of equipment and buildings requiring practical skill and knowledge (but not proficiency) in such trades as painting, carpentry, plumbing, masonry, and electrical work.
  • Work involves a variety of the following duties: replacing electrical receptacles, light bulbs, wires, switches, fixtures, and motors, using plaster or compound to patch minor holes and cracks in walls and ceilings, sanding walls in preparation for painting, repairing or replacing sinks, water coolers, and toilets painting structures and equipment; repairing or replacing concrete floors, steps, and sidewalks, replacing damaged paneling and floor tiles, hanging doors and installing door locks, replacing broken window panes, and performing general maintenance on equipment and machinery
  • Assists in performing safety check on heating, cooling and other equipment.
  • Mixes appropriate chemical(s) (i.e. cleaning, fertilizer, construction compounds) per manufacturer's specifications.
  • May operate and maintain heavy equipment such as floor scrubbers, buffers, waxing machines, forklifts or groundskeeping equipment such front end loaders or a back-hoe.
  • Moves furniture and equipment as assigned.
  • May also assist in construction work such as laying brick, block, ceramic tile, concrete walkways or asphalt.
  • Assists with securing assigned area(s). May perform routine security tours of buildings and grounds, examining doors, windows and gates, to ensure they are properly secured.
  • Complies with work order system to include interpreting work orders, performing work requested and completing work orders per instruction.
  • Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures.
  • Performs other miscellaneous duties as requested.

Required Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of general maintenance experience
  • Ability to read labels, directions, work orders, etc
  • Valid driver's license
  • Able to perform maintenance tasks to the highest caliber, which includes ability to: climb ladders, work in confined spaces, lift heavy objects weighing up to 50 lbs., etc.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance. (This involves a background/character, criminal history, employment, and credit check.)



Preferred Education:

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
