Obesity Medicine Physician for the

Massachusetts General Hospital Weight Center

The Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) Weight Center is accepting applications for full-time academic Obesity Medicine physicians. Successful candidates should be board-certified or board eligible in Obesity Medicine with added qualifications in weight loss pharmacotherapy and a strong interest in teaching and/or clinical/translational research. An academic appointment to Harvard Medical School commensurate with the candidate's academic record will be offered.

Massachusetts General Hospital is the largest teaching hospital associated with the Harvard Medical School. The 1,030-bed hospital is a MBSAQIP Level 1fully accredited metabolic and bariatric surgery center with over 360 major bariatric surgical procedures and over 800 new obesity medicine visits per year. The MGH Weight Center is an integrated center that supports the spectrum of needs for people of all ages seeking help with obesity and weight management. The Center provides individualized, multidisciplinary consultation and innovative obesity treatment, including state-of-the-art medical and surgical programs. Weight Center patients have access to specialists in obesity medicine, bariatric surgery, psychology, nutrition, endocrinology, gastroenterology and pediatrics in one clinic at multiple locations across the Boston metro region and the world via our telemedicine program. The MGH Weight Center has recently started offering multidisciplinary services in nearby MGH facilities in Waltham, Danvers as well as Newton-Wellesley Hospital. This position will include provision of services outside of Boston center.
