This is a supervisory position directly responsible for the supervision, training and scheduling of a team of NDE technician staff. The FOS verifies technician work for quality and accuracy and spends 85% of their time performing similar duties that they have functional supervision over. The FOS works closely with Operations Manager regarding client expectations, technical assignments and in the monitoring of the daily activities of NDE technician team.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

• In collaboration with the Operations Manager, oversee and coordinate operations for a designated field team.
• Support client relationships to most effectively achieve NDE departmental goals, budgets, and strategies.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of assigned personnel on an on-going basis. Review 5-10% team member work monthly and provide feedback and/or coaching and guidance on improvement.
• Conduct performance evaluations and reviews as scheduled to increase and reward improved performance.
• Develop the team and oversee training, supervision, and individual development plans. Prepare subordinates for promotional opportunities and enhanced responsibilities.
• Monitors budgets, prepare and review prebills for invoicing.
• Develop and implement best practices to improve operational efficiency.
• Demonstrate outstanding leadership skills by providing guidance and support to staff in case of conflicts and work-related issues.
• Assist in processing employee payrolls and compensations.
• Promote a healthy and positive work environment by organizing team activities/events.

Measurements:

• Safety: driving scores, near miss reporting, safety meeting attendance, recordable injuries.
• Achieve billable project work in prescribed time.
• Actual expenses vs. Budget.
• Improve team efficiency: measured through standard measures: SPBH, OT, Chargeability, WIP, etc.
• Oversee and develop Client Relationship Management with designated clients.

Knowledge and Skills Required:

• 5 or more years related field experience.
• Supervisory experience preferred but not required.
• Demonstrated successful project management experience.
• Computer literacy.
• Quality and management training is required.
