BCforward is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Network Specialist in Palo Alto, CA

Title: Network Specialist
Location: Palo Alto, CA - On Site
Duration: 6+ months Contract
Job Description

• We are looking for an entry-level networking specialist, as a supporting role, to assist in the Palo Alto, California network transformation initiative, and other relevant duties as assigned.
• The said specialist will work under the direction of both the regional and local security managers.
• During the transformation project, the onsite worker will install, program, and provide documentation for all things related to layer-two networking.
• Attendance in meetings at the program and project level is a must to understand project deliverables and to maintain productive relationships up to the point of project completion.
• Communication and time management skills will be leveraged due to competing resources and the management of two longer-term projects.

Minimum Requirements

• Must live within driving distance of the Palo Alto, California Site, and be able to work normal business hours and days.
• Entry level experience with network environments and cybersecurity practices (e.g. LAN, WAN, Wireless, routing, switching and etc.).
• Must have experience programming switches at layer two while following standard cybersecurity practices and models.
• Experience with implementation, problem analysis, and triage of infrastructure and business application environments.
• Experience with HP switches and network monitoring solutions (NMS) is a plus.
• Demonstrated social skills needed to work with local stakeholders while solving complex issues, building requirements, and building and maintaining the relationships needed, up to the point of project completion.
• Professional certification: Network+, CCNA, or CCNP certification(s).
• Must have a growth mindset, attention to detail, documentation skills, and proactive attitude.
