Job Overview

The Motion Graphics Designer supports the CNDLS Media Team in all aspects of video production. The main focus of this position is to design video graphics used in CNDLS-assisted Georgetown online courses. This position also develops on-platform graphic elements and branding materials for the courses. In addition, this position will manage the post-processing video tasks for assigned online courses, including creating and maintaining all asset management documents, coordinating with faculty and course managers on revisions and approvals, and performing all platform-related tasks associated with the building and release of course material.

Work Interactions

This position reports to the Assistant Director of Media Production, works closely with members of the CNDLS Media Team, and communicates regularly with faculty. This position also works collaboratively with all other CNDLS staff, and may work with administrators, interdisciplinary project teams, and other units on campus to carry out its responsibilities.

Work Mode Designation

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Film Production, Motion Graphics, Animation or related field
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, with an emphasis in Premiere Pro, After Effects, Illustrator and Photoshop
  • Demonstrated ability to translate complicated concepts into clear visual representations
  • Strong understanding of contemporary design principles relating to color and composition
  • Demonstrated experience working with animation or motion graphics
  • Strong planning and project management skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a creative team
