Lab Assistant for MLT Program-temporary-part time (500hours maximum for 2020-2021)

Positionnumber: BA9997

Salary: $15 per hour                                      

Motlow State is the fastest growing college in Tennessee.  We are located in the beautiful rolling hillsof middle Tennessee and have four campuses that serve students from elevencounties. Motlow positions are contingent upon funding availability and budgetapproval.

Minimum Qualifications:

An associate (or higher) MedicalLaboratory Technician degree from a regionally accredited institution, aTennessee Medical Laboratory Professional License, and three years of clinicallaboratory experience. Preference given to those with a bachelor's degree orhigher.

General Function:

 The ClinicalLaboratory Science Assistant primary responsibility is the set-up andmaintenance of all laboratory courses for the MLT Program. They will reportdirectly to the MLT Program Director and will focus on: 1) upkeep of theoverall laboratory organization under the guidance of the Program Director; 2)preparation and set-up for student laboratory exercises, practicalexaminations, and competency assessments; 3) inventory; 4) organization andmaintenance of instrumentation and other equipment, reagents, and supplies; 5)design, organization and maintenance of laboratory documentation includingstandard operating procedures, training manuals, safety manual, and safety datasheets.

 Maintainprofessional competency
 Assist in keepinginstructional resources current
 Submit allrequested paperwork timely and complete
 Respond promptlyto the Director's/Dean's requests
 Work as part of ateam
 Collaborate with the MLT Program Directorand faculty about curricular and programmatic issues and needs.
