Minimum Qualifications:

  • Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
  • Ability to understand English at a level sufficient to receive and perform basic job assignments and instructions.
  • Ability to operate a cash register effectively after completion of Merchandise Training.
  • Ability to work nights, weekends and holiday periods to meet business needs.
  • Ability to pass a mandatory (or random) drug test, per Company policy, unless prohibited by state or provincial law.
  • Ability to pass a background check, if 18 years of age or older, which may include, but is not limited to, credit, criminal, DMV, previous employment, education and personal references, per Company policy, unless prohibited by federal, state, or provincial law.

Minimum Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Cordially greets and interacts with guests as they enter the store to determine type of merchandise desired
  • Demonstrates and sells merchandise to guests utilizing knowledge of the products and emphasizing their selling points
  • Provides information to guests or fellow associates regarding products, services of retail stores, and general information within Dorney Park
  • Monitors the location for any merchandise that is out of place or on the floor. Gathers the items and places them back in their correct locations
  • Cleans and maintains shelves, counters, windows, floor racks, soda coolers, ventilation grills, and tables as needed
  • Keeps work and guest areas clean, neat, and organized with general cleaning duties (i.e. empty trash, mop, vacuum, sweep, dust, etc.)
  • Maintains fully stocked shelves, counters, tables or display racks with appropriate merchandise at all times. If there is an insufficient amount available to fill a display, relays that information to the team leader
  • Monitors all areas of the location to avoid and/or detect theft to assist in maintaining park assets. This includes investigating why the security gates are sounding to determine the cause
  • Receives and retrieves boxed stock into or from stockroom/under-stock areas to maintain full retail displays and sales promotions
  • Uses cash register to correctly total price and tax on merchandise selected by guest
  • Receives payment of cash or credit cards and makes correct change. Uses proper cash handling, checking for counterfeit bills, as well as proper credit card procedures
  • Works as a team player with other associates, supervisors and managers
  • Verifies that the merchandise is properly priced; correct price and SKU, correct spot on the item, and with the appropriate tag. If a price is incorrect, removes the incorrect price completely
  • Provides guest service according to Cedar Fair standards when serving the guest or working with subordinates, including initiating guest interactions, answering questions and giving directions.
  • Maintains cleanliness and safety in assigned work area and performs all duties in compliance with Cedar Fair Safety guidelines and requirements and reports all unsafe or unusual conditions to supervision.
  • Meets scheduling availability requirements, including nights, weekends, and holiday periods to meet business needs.
  • Meets Cedar Fair's attendance requirements as outlined in Cedar Fair's attendance policies.
  • Adheres to Cedar Fair's Rules of Conduct including specific costuming and grooming standards as outlined in Employee Guidelines and other park/division specific policies and procedures.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
