About the role

The role of the Media Assistant is to partner with the Director of Media in developing seasonal media plans,

supporting all Gap & Gap Factory North America divisions (including, but not limited to Women’s, Men’s, GapTeen, GapKids, BabyGap, GapFit, GapBody and Maternity)

that will reinvigorate and reposition the brand amongst new consumers and existing customers, while driving ROI that is accretive to earnings. Additionally, this role is responsible for partnering with media agencies on the execution of these plans, and cross functionally with project management and design to bring full funnel creative to life for each campaign. The

Media Assistant will also be a point of contact for internal partners for creative, as well as outside agencies and partners regarding the trafficking of those materials; partner closely with Brand Communications and Social Media teams for consistency of messaging across all channels.

What you'll do

  • Lead development of all seasonal and promotional advertising campaigns (channel-specific ads; both upper funnel awareness & lower funnel performance) in partnership with internal creative teams to ensure consistent brand communications. Owning this workstream will begin with translating the media plan into an asset list, ending with handing off those assets for launch.

  • Incorporate customer insights, brand positioning, marketing, media, design and product strategies as well as intuitive creative judgment in everything they do.

  • Acquire depth of knowledge about emerging media trends, digital platforms and other opportunities to make Gap a leader in innovation

  • Embrace the ongoing challenge of being an expert on evolving creative best practices and leading creative testing/optimizations based on performance data in order to meet media goals of improving brand perception, driving awareness/consideration with new and lapsed customers, and driving traffic and conversion with current customers

  • Summarize and present view of media creative across the funnel to illustrate consumer journey for each campaign.

  • Manage day to day deliverables, including but not limited to creation of media purchase orders, maintain flowcharts and measurement trackers, and use plan details to keep media portions of seasonal integrated marketing plan summaries and hindsight for leadership share outs up to date.

Who you are

  • Must have experience with all Media and strong knowledge regarding Digital Marketing and Social platforms.

  • Minimum of 2-3 years of Marketing/Agency or in-house Media planning experience.

  • Understanding of industry marketing, media, technologies; ability to apply analytics to assess creative performance and logically develop an approach to brand marketing; media consumption, efficiency, efficacy and ROI metrics.

  • Experience in the creative design process, working directly with outside vendors, brands, and media partners.

  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and project management skills; proactive, flexible, and responsive.

  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, while staying detail-oriented with strong organizational and written communication skills with a strong sense of ownership, accountability and commitment to deadlines and results
