Our Engineering team is seeking a Mechanical Engineer. At our facility in Carol Stream, IL, engineers develop innovative torque tool designs that meet the premium expectations of Sturtevant Richmont customers. This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity to design and develop tools for customers who are focused on quality and precision.
Responsibilities
- Design and development of new torque products
- Evaluation of competitive products and vendor parts
- Development of manufacturing assembly fixtures
- Component specification
- Supplier selection
- Creation of drawings and bills of material for manufacturing
- Practical problem solving
- Development and oversight of test procedures
- Validation of test results
- Manufacturing support
Qualifications
- BSME
- 2-4 years product development experience
- Working knowledge of:
- CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, etc.)
- Materials (steel, aluminum, plastic, etc.)
- Dimensional tolerancing
- Mechanical theory
- Computer simulation and stress analysis
- Engineering standards
- Layout, design, drafting and drawing
- Microsoft office
