Job Responsibilities

 
Pennoni is currently seeking a Materials Testing & Inspection Manager to work out of our East Hanover, NJ office with experience consistent with, but not limited to, the following job responsibilities:

  • Supervise others who perform construction materials laboratory testing and perform the same testing.
  • Supervisor others performing Special Inspections and Construction Materials Testing in the field.
  • Assist with proposals and developing business.
  • Manage inspection and testing projects.
  • Work with other project engineers, including geotechnical, structural and civil engineers.
  • Liaison with clients and contractors.
  • Construction materials testing includes:
    • Portland cement concrete
    • Bituminous concrete
    • Soils and aggregate
  • Meet deadlines.
  • Manage workload and staffing to help ensure efficiency and profitability.
  • Ensure that the laboratory is a clean, organized and well-maintained workspace.
  • Ensure that samples are handled, tested, and reported in accordance with the standards and specifications.
  • Enforce laboratory quality procedures.
  • Assist with laboratory accreditation efforts, including quality documents, audits, and proficiency samples.
  • Assist with staffing and personnel responsibilities.
  • Project management, including invoicing and collecting of receivables.
  • Microsoft Windows and the Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Manage multiple direct reports.
Preferred Licenses and Certifications:

  • NJDCA certifications
  • ACI Certifications
  • ICC Certifications
  • EIT and/or PE license
  • BS in Civil Engineering or related degree
