Expected Duration: 12 Months Contract
Job Type: Full Time 40 Hours Contract, Onsite
Pay Range: $39.79/hr on W2 (must be able to work on W2 without sponsorship)
Shift: 1st shift, onsite position

Job Summary:

  • We are seeking a Materials Engineer to join our Materials Engineering Lab team.
  • The successful candidate will be primarily focused on materials testing and writing technical reports to ensure the quality and compliance of our products.
  • This position will require a strong background in materials science and engineering, as well as excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
  • The candidate will work under the guidance of more senior colleagues to support the analysis of information, specification of methods and processes, and continuous improvement of manufacturing or materials processes.

Primary Responsibilities:
1. Create test plans under the guidance of senior colleagues, ensuring efficient and accurate execution of materials testing processes that meet the customer's needs.
2. Perform materials testing using established procedures and techniques to ensure product quality and compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
3. Write detailed technical reports based on materials testing results, outlining findings and recommendations.
4. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design, manufacturing, and quality assurance, to ensure materials meet the necessary specifications and performance requirements.
5. Provide technical support to manufacturing teams to troubleshoot and resolve materials-related issues.
6. Maintain accurate documentation of experiments, results, and analyses, and present findings to stakeholders.
7. Contribute to the development and implementation of proposed engineering solutions
8. Identify shortcomings in existing processes, systems, and procedures, and address them using established change management programs.
9. Carry out a range of product development and engineering activities, using established systems to analyze customer needs and define and deliver results.

Minimum Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Materials Science, Materials Engineering, or a related field; or, minimum 1 year of professional experience in materials engineering, with a focus on materials testing
2. Strong understanding of materials properties, characterization techniques, and processing methods.
3. Proficient in the use of office productivity software, such as word processing and spreadsheets, for effective data management and presentation.
4. Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
5. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with a keen attention to detail.
6. Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
7. Ability to lift parts up to 20 lbs and stand for extended periods of time.
