Reporting to the Process Engineering Manager, the Material Master Data Manager is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the activities of the BOM group. In addition, they will be responsible for integrating quality into the manufacture of high-precision components by accurately specifying and documenting the process of record (POR), including bill of materials, process sequence, critical-to-quality process and product parameters.

This position will have the opportunity to:

  • Provide guidance, direction, and leadership to personnel in the department to ensure department goals are met (i.e. plan and determine personnel requirements, solicit overtime requirements).
  • Trains personnel on department procedures and hold personnel accountable to follow procedures and guidelines.
  • Perform annual performance reviews.
  • Using a variety of computer applications including SAP, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Minitab, Adobe: extract, format, filter, analyze and present data product and process data to internal and external customers.
  • Interpret a wide variety of specifications and complex design drawings; translate design requirements into proposed method of manufacture.
  • Apply statistical analysis to define product specifications and tolerances in accordance with customer requirements.
  • Utilize SAP to create new part numbers from customer requirements; structure and standardize POR routing instructions to ensure product compliance to specification.
  • Create and maintain detailed and accurate bill-of-material and production routing for all materials and products.
  • Provide floor support with issues regarding production, sales orders, customer specs, etc.
  • Interface with Sales, Process Engineering, Product and Design, Research and development to assure products are built to customer requirements; Work with accounting to ensure accurate standard costing with regular cost variance reviews.
  • Track progress of part number, BOM and router creation. Chart and report monthly.
  • Support Non-conforming Material process. Review dispositions: notify Sales of issues that affect customer. Initiate Customer waivers when required. Sign off when complete.
REQUIREMENTS:
  • High School diploma
  • Associates degree in a technical field or a minimum of 10 years' experience in target manufacturing, Quality and/or Engineering preferred
  • Expert knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)
  • Demonstrated SAP and Microsoft Office proficiency
  • Knowledge of materials, material analysis/test methods and manufacturing methods is highly desirable
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a supervisory/lead role preferred
  • Previous Quality experience for technical materials/products is preferred
  • Working knowledge of Lean and or Six Sigma is preferred
