This is a first shift opportunity for a Material Handler. The Material Handler will be responsible for a wide variety of warehouse activities including shipping and receiving materials, stock put away, generating outside service orders, processing UPS and FedEx shipments, packing and labelling for stock or shipments.

Responsibilities

• Perform all assigned duties in the safest way possible and adhere to all safety precautions - PPE is required at all times- safety glasses and steel toed shoes
• Maintain a clean, safe and organized work environment
• Load and unload trucks as needed including steel deliveries from flatbeds
• Handle all aspects of shipping, receiving, and inventory policies and procedures
• Receive, verify, count, and match incoming inventory shipments and packing slips against purchase orders and label accordingly- reporting all discrepancies in a timely manner and maintain accurate files of all documents
• Heavy data entry to process inventory receipts, repairs, and shipments
• Generate purchase orders for production material going to outside suppliers for processing
• Store inventory in an organized and safe manner so that it can be retrieved FIFO
• Safely operate material handling equipment needed to perform primary role including but not limited to sit down and stand up forklifts, pallet jacks, dolly, and lift assist devices
• Interact with suppliers via email and/or phone to obtain missing paperwork and confirm orders are ready for pick up by our house driver
• Maintain a clean, neat, and organized work environment
• Other duties as directed by supervisor

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED
• Sit down and stand up forklift experience required - test will be administered for licensing
• Previous Shipping and Receiving experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
• Very detail oriented
• High comfort level using computer - Microsoft Suite- Word, Excel, Outlook E-mail
• Continuous Improvement Mindset
• Team player- this role regularly interacts with every department in the plant
• Ability to work independently - someone that can manage time and tasks on the dock effectively and in an organized and safe manner
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Available for overtime, as required

PHYSICAL EFFORT
• Required to physically perform the basic functions of reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, and perform repetitive motions - lift/move up to 50 lbs. consistently
• Ability to walk, stand or sit for extended periods of time
• Must possess visual abilities to perform extended reading and computer work
