Position Overview

Novelis, in support of the global transformation through the implementation of SAP, is focused on the creation of an enterprise Master Data Management environment, the discipline necessary to maintain the integrity of the company's data assets. The role will blend a core foundation of technology and methodology.

The Master Data Analyst will be responsible for entering, modifying and confirming Material Master Data in the SAP enterprise databases as defined by policy and procedure, meeting agreed upon data entry Service Level Agreements, and with problem resolution as required.

In addition, this role will support key strategic departmental objectives, including but not limited to:

  • The extension of current business rules and processes to cover global requirements
  • The tracking of data quality improvements
  • Support (as needed) for data conversion ahead of future SAP deployments around the globe

The position will have an impact on several functions of the company as central master data is a critical component of an SAP environment. The position will need to provide services to all facilities and assigned functions within agreed upon service levels to maintain business speed and continuance. Meeting these performance objectives will allow the business to be responsive to the internal and external customers
Responsibilities & Qualifications

Role Responsibilities:
  • Receive, review and update Master File change requests as defined by procedures
  • Validate if "change" complies with policy for type of request
  • Validating data that enters and exits business processes
  • Work with business users to close open/pending request items
  • Set up items/values as appropriate
  • Accessing information (meta-data) available about how the data was defined for the business and how the data was produced in the information systems in order to use the data for its intended purpose
  • Ensuring the quality, completeness, and accuracy of data usage according to the definition of the data provided by the Data Stewards
  • Communicate new and changed business rules / standards on an as needed basis
  • Coordinate initiatives across Regions and functional Business Groups
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in a major that supports the role
  • Previous experience working with a global process manufacturing company is desire (3 + years of experience interacting with business partners)
  • Knowledge of ERP- SAP 5+ years ( ECC - MM / SD as a Data Analyst)
    • Additional Knowledge of S4 / Hana environment is preferred
  • Knowledge of material definition (e.g. products, bills of material, routings)
  • Knowledge of Commercial data elements
  • Knowledge of Procurement data elements
  • Knowledge of Financial data elements
  • Experience in data cleansing, classification and coding of transactions
  • Experience in Informatica MDM/IDD/IDQ/Supplier 360 / P360 experience is preferred
  • Able to support travel as needed (10%)
  • Excellent communication skills (written & oral)
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word/Excel/PowerPoint)
