ECS is seeking a Marine Technical Estimator to work in our Pascagoula, MS office. Please Note: This position is contingent upon contract award.

Job Description:

  • Demonstrates a thorough knowledge of practices and procedures for developing clear, accurate, and concise engineering products that will be utilized in preparing cost estimates.
  • Provides highly sought-after expertise that is specific to their field.
  • Performs as a subject matter expert on complex or critical issues.
  • Develops, coordinates, directs, guides and/or executes assessments, reports, plans, resolutions, or other complex situations.
  • Develop engineering products necessary to produce accurate cost estimates by utilizing techniques and assigning functional and production man-hours and material costs to each statement of work.
  • Create engineering products for new business or change order price proposals which include labor and material estimates based on information from complex specifications and drawings.
Required Skills:
  • Technical diploma or degree in a related discipline or equivalent technical experience.
  • 7+ years of experience in shipbuilding functional and production engineering, experience supporting cost estimating or equivalent experience in other shipbuilding organizations which result in the required knowledge to achieve successful task completion.
  • Demonstrate strong ethical leadership and a willingness to engage in a team-first, results driven environment.
  • Responsible for adherence to departmental policy and procedures for all estimating functions.
  • Collaboration with various functional organizations including Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Contract Administration, Operations, Planning and Program Management.
  • Interact with design/engineering subcontractors, supplier technical personnel and others.
  • Possess the ability to work remotely and uphold strong communication with shipyard personnel.
Desired Skills:
  • Bachelors of Science - Engineering (preferred)
  • Exposure to a shipyard or production environment.
  • Experience working directly with regulatory bodies and classification societies.
  • Experience in DFAR Estimating System requirements (preferred)
