Overview

This position is responsible for defining and executing HbI's worldwide transportation strategies specific to eComm and Omni fulfillment in support of Consumer centric organization objectives.

Key deliverables for this role include:

  • Global carrier account management for providers supporting eCommerce/Omni fulfillment
  • Carrier sourcing and negotiations
  • Transportation cost and service optimization to include internal business processes
  • Regulatory and corporate compliance for selected vendors and business processes
  • Communicate and coordinate execution of above key deliverables with Global Logistics Leads

Responsibilities
  • Lead the development of HbI's worldwide eComm and Omni fulfillment transportation strategies to ensure the provision of the best possible customer experience, quality of service, and lowest sustainable cost.
  • Develop and maintain the global transportation budget to ensure that services are provided at the required standard cost and within budgeted limits for eComm and Customer freight.
  • Responsible for determining optimal transportation and logistics services for modes/types of transportation, through global carrier negotiations, detailed allocation plans and volume forecast.
  • Lead in identifying, developing, communicating, and implementing transportation best practices for eComm fulfillment.
  • Lead in implementing transportation providers and technology to support eComm fulfillment; including reverse logistics solutions.
  • Identify and implement solutions across the global supply chain to improve transportation costs, transit times, reliability, and quality of service through introduction of market disruptive providers and solutions.
  • Lead in the creation and adoption of standardized transportation processes.
  • Effectively manage all Global Transportation partners supporting eComm fulfillment specifically Parcel providers.
  • Effectively manage all carrier contracts, global rate databases in support of our global freight payment management company and ensure timely and accurate payment of providers.
  • Provides leadership and training in carrier management, transportation analysis and international freight processes improvements to the organization
  • Monitor and communicate economic trends impacting freight, logistics, and eComm fulfillment.
  • Act as a back-up to the Global Logistics Transportation and Logistics management by attending meetings, conference calls, and overall acting as a representative of the department as needed.
  • Collaborate with Global Logistics Analyst for all KPI and Metric data monitoring and reporting.
  • Create and report out presentations related to Transportation for eComm to Senior Management

Qualifications

I. Qualifications (minimum) required to fulfill the responsibilities in an acceptable manner.
  • Education/Degrees: Bachelor Degree with preference in Supply Chain management and/or Logistics. MBA preferred.
  • Special Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Suite with proven ability utilizing excel, and the ability to learn and utilize various types of software/information systems. Experience in operating Transportation Management Systems preferred
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Years of experience: 5+ years
  • Type of experience: North American transportation experience (5+ yrs.)
  • Parcel provider experience (3+ yrs.)
  • Experienced Transportation Contract Negotiaton
  • Understanding of financial freight accrual processes
  • Experienced in Lean focused Transportation improvements
  • Leadership experience in logistics, transportation or distribution
  • Required travel: 15% or less
II. Preferred experience, skills, and education that are not required for job but beneficial to role (i.e. bi-lingual).
  • Experience in e-commerce and Omni-channel distribution
  • Transportation provider experience, specific to rate development and service management
  • Experience managing, developing, and coaching others.
  • Experience with exporting and/or importing covering all modes of transportation.
  • Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with internal customers, external suppliers and team members at all levels
  • Demonstrated presentation and communication skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion in business relationships
  • Ability to exercise sound business judgment in a team environment, as well as independently
  • Ability to deal with all employees and external business contacts while conveying a positive, service-oriented attitude
  • Working knowledge of organizational supply chain and systems
III. Competencies or behavioral characteristics required to accomplish primary accountabilities of job.
