About this opportunity:
Reporting to the Director, Trading, Supply & Logistics (TSL), this role is accountable for leading teams in the safe, compliant, and value optimized movement of Refined Products throughout our domestic and international distribution markets. The scope includes ensuring continuous operations of Cenovus producing assets, transforming trade and marketing strategies into execution of priorities and initiatives for the scheduling teams, and assists in the development and implementation of the commercial strategy.

This position provides direct support to the Refined Products Trading and Marketing Teams, collaborates with the crude and diluent commercial teams, and is the single point of accountability both internally and externally related to refined product transportation. The role provides 24/7 leadership and strategic direction to a team that is focused on mitigation of risk and value optimization for product movements to and from Cenovus assets.

This position is located in Columbus OH at our corporate office

Responsibilities:
  • Lead a team of schedulers for optimizing the movement of refined products through various transportation modes
  • Develop and implement trade strategies to enhance operational performance and generate commercial value
  • Manage transportation and storage contracts across different regions
  • Make critical decisions in response to market volatility and communicate operational risks and mitigations
  • Prioritize and execute business activities, handle supply disruptions, and optimize assets with collaborators
  • Oversee the operationalization of commercial contracts and act as a senior point of contact for external customers
  • Collaborate with Commercial Operations and Trading to optimize contracts and minimize risk, contributing to strategic initiatives and identifying emerging issues.
Qualifications;
  • Legal eligible to work in the US
  • Minimum 10+ years of experience in Business, Economics, Engineering, or related field
  • Strong commercial background in oil and gas logistics, with trading experience preferred
  • Proven ability to develop and execute business development strategies
  • Extensive knowledge of Energy Trading Risk Management (ETRM) systems, with proficiency in RightAngle being a plus
  • In-depth understanding of North American commodity transportation networks, scheduling, and trade cycles across multiple commodities
