Facebook's Legal Project Management team is looking for a Manager within our Legal Project Management Organization (PMO) to serve as a team lead for our portfolio of legal and compliance projects in the Americas. The Manager, Legal Project Management will work closely with our Legal PMO, departmental stakeholders, and cross-functional partners to oversee and manage strategic projects for Facebook's Legal. This role will also manage a small team of full-time employees and contract Project Managers that support both regional and global projects for the department. The ideal candidate will have an ability to see the big picture and incorporates problem solving, critical thinking and tactical execution into their daily work.
  • Oversee a sub-portfolio of our Legal and Compliance projects, ensuring a high level of delivery quality from all team members
  • Lead project delivery on assigned departmental and/or cross-functional project(s)
  • Support, coach, and mentor a team of full-time and contract project managers within the region
  • fostering a cohesive and inclusive culture
  • Promote and manage the continuous improvement of project delivery on assigned projects and for the PMO team as a whole
  • Engage directly with Management and other PMO People Managers on strategic planning, project scoping, resource allocation, and portfolio and project status reporting
  • Display effective organization skills and manage multiple and oftentimes competing priorities from stakeholders
  • Oversee requirements gathering on large projects and supervise creation of integrated project plans and timelines for regional projects
  • Demonstrate sharp attention to detail in executing and reviewing work products to ensure the highest quality deliverables
  • Experience gathering and synthesizing information from multiple teams, including the legal, privacy, compliance domains, in order to analyze complex issues, mitigate risks and solve problems
  • Travel as needed, up to 10% depending on assigned projects and team meetings
  • Bachelor's degree or 4+ years additional project/program management experience
  • 10+ years of project and project management experience, including experience leading departmental and enterprise-wide projects
  • 3+ years of people management experience
  • Experience leading large departmental and enterprise-wide projects and driving communications and status-updates with senior stakeholders
  • Experience building connections with diverse stakeholders and cross-functional partners towards a common goal on projects through effective collaboration
  • Prior project management roles within the technology or professional services industry
  • Experience working on Legal, Compliance, Privacy, Regulatory, or Policy projects
  • PMP, CAPM, or other relevant project management certification(s)
  • Strong demonstrated collaboration, leadership, and coordination skills to push the team forward with implementing solutions
  • Diplomatic in understanding team and stakeholder dynamics at-play and experience coaching and mentoring team members
