Duties and responsibilities

• Successful operation of Waste Disposal Plant in accordance with Minnesota Pollution Control Agency Operating Permit.
• Successful operation of Waste Land Application in accordance with Minnesota Pollution Control Agency Operating Permit.
• Accurate monitoring of plant wastes and movement throughout the Disposal Plant.
• Keep accurate and complete records of all aspects of Waste Disposal Operations.
• Keep accurate and complete records of all aspects of Land Application Operations.
• Perform a variety of testing procedures on the influent and effluent of the Waste Disposal operating procedures.
• Take accurate and representative samples and running tests.
• Maintenance and upkeep of all aspects of the Disposal Plant.
• Maintenance and upkeep of all aspects of the Land Application equipment.
• Repair and upkeep of all equipment and grounds.
• General maintenance at the production facility.
• After the duties of operating the Waste Disposal Plant and land application, there will be a variety of duties to be performed at the production plant.
• Upkeep of plant grounds and building exterior.
• Follow all DFA GMP's and work in a manner consistent with all corporate and regulatory, food safety, quality and sanitation requirements.
• Afterhours, overtime, night, and weekend work as needed.
• Attends required training, including but not limited to: GMP's, HAACP, SQF, Safety, etc.
• All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• 1 year mechanical background required, 2+ years preferred
• Ability to read, speak & understand both oral and written instructions
• Skilled in problem solving & willingness to work in a team environment
• Basic computer knowledge
• Ability to think and use independent judgement in planning and organizing multiple tasks and information requirements
• Ability to demonstrate strong initiative and follow through on day to day responsibilities
• Ability to pass a background check & physical/drug screen
• HS Diploma/GED preferred

Licensing & Certification

• Waste Water Treatment Facility Operators License
• Land Application Class IV
• CDL Commercial Driver's License "Class A"
  
  

Physical Demands

• Standing, twisting, pushing, pulling throughout shift
• Lifting, carrying, and/or lowering 60-90 pounds
• Occasional lifting, carrying, and/or lowering 90-120 pounds
• Repetition of hand/wrist, doing simple grasping
• Must be able to stand for long periods of time
