Daytona International Speedway is a state-of-the-art motorsports facility and was awarded the SportsBusiness Journal's prestigious Sports Business Award for Sports Facility of the Year in 2016. Daytona International Speedway is the home of "The Great American Race" - the DAYTONA 500. Though the prestigious season-opening NASCAR Cup Series event garners most of the attention - as well as the largest audience in motorsports - the approximately 500-acre motorsports complex boasts the most diverse schedule of racing on the globe, thus earning it the title of "World Center of Racing." Among the nine major weekends of racing activity are the Rolex 24 At DAYTONA, the DAYTONA Supercross, the DAYTONA 200 motorcycle classic and the Coke Zero Sugar 400. Rarely a week goes by that the Speedway grounds are not used for events that include track tours, concerts, civic and social gatherings, car shows, photo shoots, production vehicle testing and police motorcycle training.

As part of DIS Facility Operations team, perform painting duties across facility. Painting includes track wall, asphalt surfaces, interior and exterior of buildings, walls, etc. Repair, prep, paint and perform finish work on all projects. In addition, perform general maintenance duties as part of overall DIS team. Maintain the overall condition of the building and grounds. Basic office systems knowledge including but not limited to computer system & programs, cellular phone. Microsoft Office suite knowledge preferred (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Operate a variety of painting equipment, including motorized paint sprayers, air compressors, etc.
  • Use all types of power tools and equipment including vehicles, carts, generators, mechanical lifts.
  • Repair and prep existing surfaces of buildings and facility for paint jobs.
  • Perform preventive building maintenance duties.
  • Clean, repair, and maintain equipment, tools and machinery.
  • Use saws, hammer, nails and bolts for framing.
  • Support overall DIS team on various projects, which could include digging ditches or trenches, backfill excavations, compact and level earth to grade specifications using equipment, picks, or shovels.
  • Perform light electrical, plumbing, drywall and carpentry repairs.
  • Participate in general cleaning, painting, and repair work.
  • Work with Facility Operations and DIS staff to execute major events and other track activity.
  • Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Valid Florida driver's license
