Basic Job Functions:
St. Louis Cold Drawn is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Maintenance Mechanic. The primary duties will include, but are not limited to:
- Maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, performing scheduled PMs, and upgrading production equipment.
- Assist in creating, maintaining, and completing work orders through the work order system
- Assist in tracking, organizing, and maintaining spare parts in inventory and areas
- Must weld for repairs and fabrication projects
Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Minimum Qualifications:
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 2 or more years experience with mechanical, electrical and hydraulic repairs
Preferred Qualifications:
• Demonstrated ability to work safely
• Hydraulic system knowledge and experience
• Experience in industrial maintenance of material handling systems
• Experience with basic fabrication
• Experience in construction, commissioning, and start-up of industrial equipment
• Metal cutting, welding, fabrication knowledge and experience
• Operation of forklift, mobile crane, and/or other mobile equipment
•Experience performing preventative and corrective maintenance on industrial equipment
