Nordson Industrial Coating Systems (ICS) designs equipment our global customers rely on for the precise application and curing of liquid paint, powder finishes, container barrier coatings and ambient temperature adhesives and sealants. Production lines work smarter with custom engineered robotic solutions from Nordson Industrial Coating Systems.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage the utilization of manpower, skills, hours, material, and the work flow to assure timely production and quality standards.
  • Organize and assign work.
  • Instruct, guide and assist employees in the performance of their work.
  • Provide information as requested to engineering, manufacturing services, sales, and marketing departments.
  • Participate in company programs, such as communication, job training, vacation scheduling, and job evaluation.
  • Manage the use of safety devices and equipment.
  • Supervise departmental housekeeping and maintain a constant alertness for hazardous conditions.
  • Maintain conformance with company work rules and regulations, issue warnings for violations and administer approved disciplinary measured when necessary.
  • Manage production related supplies.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Education and Experience Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or eight years related industrial experience

Experience
  • Five years in a manufacturing environment or three years in a machining environment.
  • Two years of prior supervisory experience or three years as a team lead.
  • Prior union environment experience is a plus.


Skills and Abilities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to see big picture and make strategic plans.
  • CNC and G Code programming.
  • Impartial and honest in dealing with subordinates.
  • Willing to put the needs of the organization and team in front of themselves.
  • Self-starter and independent worker.
  • ERP knowledge - SAP preferred.
  • Ability to apply LEAN and Six Sigma concepts.
  • Strong computer skills including MS; Outlook, Word, Excel, Project, etc.
