What You Need for this Position 2+ years experience in Freight & Logistics and/or in a Warehouse/Distribution Center
Knowledge of operational procedures including ocean shipping and related documentation, freight forwarders, drayage providers, and 3PLs
Must be able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced deadline-driven environment
Good verbal and written communication with above-average reporting / Excel skills
College graduate preferred with a degree in supply chain management, business, operations management, or a related field (A High School Diploma and relevant experience may be substituted for a degree)
What You Will Be Doing Ensure agreed SOPs are followed for drayage, container receipt, and outbound shipments including order picking, packing, and staging
Regularly monitor and review 3PL processes, prepare action plans, and host weekly calls to communicate action items with agreed timelines
Co-ordinate and support regular cycle counts
Support 3PLs to manage terminal, carrier & appointed drayage providers, including overseeing the appointment processes, to avoid delays and related costs and penalties
Work closely with the Order Management team to pull priority containers
Be responsible for receiving containers into ERP timely (MS D365)
Prepare reports to provide visibility for each container from DO release to the return of empties
Ensure 3PLs complete all picking and packing within 24 hours from the pick receipt. Provide timely identification of unshipped orders
Collaborate with carriers for receipt of adequate trailers and timely pickup
Be familiar with customer routing guides and retailer portals. Support 3PLs to correctly set up shipping labels and the Bill of Lading
Manage order returns and sorting, including communication with Order Management for ERP updates
Support the establishment of a parts program, including coordination with Customer Service
