JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for reverse logistics functions. Manages the daily flow of reclaimable materials. Route materials and shipments to support maintenance of the fleet as needed. Responsible for X System control. Provide and develop reports in support of Logistics and Material Department goals and objectives relative to flow of reconditionable components. Analyze freight data, freight movements and the movement and control of inventory, providing reports to monitor material usage, x material usage and reconditioning and x material inventory as well as providing support as needed to assist the Department.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist the proper timely distribution of materials by way of manual routing and the tsmart system as needed. Insure the use of least cost carriers are used, provide reports as needed to identify delinquent loads, proper rates, correct freight payment account allocation.
  • Responsible for daily operation of x material system.
  • Provide work papers for pre audit of scrap dealers. Perform audits at scrap dealers to reconcile scrap variances in collaboration with the Asset Management department.
  • Audit reconditioners. Monitor scrap revenue to insure x compliance.
  • Responsible for metrics to include x data, monthly performance report.
  • Assist Sr. Manager as needed and act as resource as needed for the LDC.
  • Provide FMR data required for Logistics and Material component of FMR process.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Fifth year college or university program certificate; or two to four related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability to read/interpret Rail/Motor Tariffs and working knowledge of Microsoft Suite of products is essential. Membership in organizations such as NAPM, TCPC is recommended.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages, area, circumference and volume.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

General office environment; may be required to travel. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or transport up to 10 pounds. Correctable vision required for close, distance, and color vision capabilities.

About the Team

What we do:

Provide a wide range of services for North American railroads and the transportation industry.
  • Create a Business Plan that drives the Company's plan for new car builds and modifications. The business plan reflects the economy, freight markets, and any changes in freight strategies.
  • Day-to-day management of the TTX Company's Intermodal, General Equipment and Automotive fleets.
  • Manage procurement of new rail cars, components and other materials used to support TTX fleet maintenance.
  • Manage the North American Boxcar Pool and the Automotive Reload pool, which includes rail cars supplied by owners other than TTX.
  • Provide in-depth analysis of the economy, the rail industry and its competitors.
