Job Description

General Description:
Provides indirect leadership support for flight operations at SC Aviation. The position is critical to the timely and safe departure of airplanes from our Janesville facility. Cleans, fuels, services and moves aircraft. Maintains the hangar and office facilities, which includes cleaning, stocking and light general maintenance of the building and grounds. Purchases and monitors hangar, office and aircraft stocks and supplies. Occasional duties as courier or driver delivering mail, equipment, supplies, or people to off-airport sights. Responsible for operation and monitoring of the jet fuel storage and delivery systems.

Specific Responsibilities:
1. Provides indirect supervision of line service employees. (20 - 30%)
A. Ensures all cleaning, stocking and fueling of aircraft is complete.
B. Maintains accurate records of work performed.
C. Onboards and trains employees on the following:
1. Properly handling, cleaning, stocking and fueling aircraft.
2. Properly inspecting and using ground support equipment.
3. Properly inspecting, maintaining and repairing buildings.
4. Identifying and avoiding potential hazards.
D. Communicates any changes in policies and/or procedures.
E. Conducts safety talks.
F. Assigns job tasks or performs the work, as needed.
G. Responds promptly to questions related to assignments or regulations.
2. Cleans aircraft including vacuuming, carpet cleaning, windshield and cabin windows interiors and exteriors cleaning (20 - 30%)
3. Safely moves aircraft using aircraft tug on ramp, in and out of hangar. (10 - 20%)
4. Performs light service work on aircraft such as oxygen and fluid replenishment under the direction of the maintenance staff. (10-20%)
5.Cleans and stocks hangar and office facilities including vacuuming, dusting, floor cleaning, window cleaning and trash removal. (10-20%)
6. Monitors and operates fuel farm. Maintain quantity and quality of fuel in storage. (5-10%)
7. Maintains accurate inventory levels of aircraft food stock, cleaning supplies, equipment servicing and other supplies. (5-10%)
A. Orders jet fuel.
B. Monitors costs and takes advantage of potential cost savings, when appropriate.
C. Ensures chemicals are stored properly.
D. Ensures Safety Data Sheets (SDS) are readily available for chemicals.
8. Performs light facilities maintenance such as replacing bulbs, hanging items, light plumbing repairs. (5-10%)
9. Driver for positioning of crews, staff, passengers. Assists in the delivery or pickup of company or rental vehicles.
10. Courier for timely delivery of parts, parcels, supplies and mail.
11. Performs light grounds keeping including weeding, mowing, shoveling, snow blowing, watering of plants and shrubs.
12. Works closely with the maintenance and operations staff to coordinate the servicing and cleaning of aircraft to minimize down time and maximizes availability of aircraft.
13. Orders, distributes and tracks hangar and aircraft stock and stores.
14. Performs other duties as assigned by the President, Vice President, Director of Maintenance, Director of Operations or Chief Pilot.
15. Performs all work and assigned tasks in a safe manner and constant state of alertness according to company policy.
16. Performs all designated job duties/tasks in other departments as assigned to ensure operating efficiency of the Company and maximum utilization of Company personnel. These assignments may be part of a formalized cross-training program or on an as needed, temporary basis.
