Job Description Summary
The LGBT Center Associate Director: works directly with undergraduate students one-on-one as well as graduate and professional students as needed; advises undergraduate student organizations; maintains and builds on- and off-campus relationships; hires and supervises work-study student staff; is the primary Center program planner/evaluator in collaboration with students and campus partners; assists in resource creation and dissemination as well as representing the Center widely; facilitates Center-sponsored LGBTQ+ trainings; act as a campus confidential resource; and handles financial matters such as fund payments to students, receipts, and reimbursements.

Responsibilities

• Run signature programs including SafeZones, Safe Spaces, and spearhead LGBTQ+ training initiatives across the University
  
• Programming and evaluation (designated lead for Queer History Month and QPenn)
  
• Advise undergraduate student groups
  
• Hire, onboard, orient, and supervise student workers; hold regular meetings with senior program assistants
  
• Represent and promote the Center personally via 1:1 student appointments, across campus, and through resource creation; serve as a confidential resource
  
• Handle financial matters
  

Qualifications

• BA/BS, preferably in education, social work, gender studies, counseling, or related fields plus two to three years related experience or equivalent combination of experience and education, are required.
  
• MA/MS strongly preferred.
  
• Experience working with LGBTQ+ communities, program creation, implementation, and evaluation, preferably in a campus setting.
  
• Demonstrated understanding of the complex issues surrounding gender and sexuality, interpersonal violence, intersectionality, social justice, and college- and graduate student-age populations.
  
• Experience advising students and student groups as well as strong relationship building skills and an ability to represent the Center externally.
  
• Ability to work collaboratively and effectively with student, faculty, and administrative partners.
  
• Preferred supervisory experience. Strong oral, written, and technological skills, including social media.
  
• Position will require some evening and possibly weekend work.

Targeted Pay Range

• $43,919 - $62,000. Salary offers are made based on the candidate's qualifications, experience, skills, and education as they directly relate to the requirements of the position, as well as internal and market factors and grade profile.
