The Lending Assistant II is responsible for assisting Business Development Officers and Managers with the overall administrative functions and responsibilities of developing and maintaining a portfolio of commercial relationships and servicing the client needs within that portfolio (services, deposits and loans).

Duties and responsibilities include:

  • Use current Loan Processing application to service commercial loans.
  • Use current Loan Processing application and Nautilus in order scan documents and transfer them internally.
  • Use current Loan Processing application and Nautilus to clear One Point exceptions.
  • Monitor and cure One Point exceptions on an ongoing basis to maintain outstanding asset quality and reduce exceptions over 30 days.
  • Print and review Weekly Delinquent Loan Reports.
  • Print and review Future Maturities Report on a monthly basis and provide Officer with copy of the report.
  • Prepare the Loan Administration Checklist and Checklist to the Credit File for renewed loans on a timely basis.
  • Follow up with Loan Administration to ensure that loans are renewed on a timely basis.
  • Print and review daily Overdraft/Uncollected Funds Reports.
  • Assist Officer with clearing stale overdrafts with the goal of keeping overdrafts over 30 days to a minimum.
  • Assist the Officer with the booking of new loans and renewals on a timely basis.
  • Assist Commercial Lending Officer with the investigation of BSA issues.
  • Prepare Know Your Customer forms.
  • Contact Insurance agent.
  • Verify signatures and amount to be approved by officer.
  • Resolve customer inquiries and service requests.
  • Work closely with other departments to facilitate loan processing and other general service requests.
  • Prepare account maintenance forms.
  • Process loan payments/debit instructions and loan advance requests via NCino.
  • Expedite wire transfers.
  • Receives and forward loan documents to support areas for processing loan pay-offs estoppels requests and satisfaction of mortgages.
  • Prepare correspondence, make copies, send faxes, schedule and coordinating Loan Officer’s functions to assure smooth operational flow.
  • Collects fees for 3rd party services
  • Notify customer of renewal due dates and provide list of required financial information.
  • Prepare reports and monitor overdrafts.
  • Monitors officer account relationship to ensure compliance with BSA at all times.
Minimum Education and/or Certifications Requirements:
Minimum two years college education with courses in accounting, finance and business law is preferred.

Bank courses or CFT courses in financial statement analysis, loan documentation and commercial lending related topics or experience as a Lending Assistant may substitute college education.

Minimum Work Experience Requirements:
2+ years of experience as a Lending Assistant, Administrative Assistant or Legal Assistant is required.

Knowledge of commercial lending and loan documentation, including the ability to read financial statements and make basic interpretations to determine credit risk is required.

Customer service experience in a sales environment is desired

Technical and/or Other Essential Knowledge:
Knowledge of banking regulations, loan documentation and commercial mortgages is required.

Proficiency using Microsoft Office 365 products including MS Word, MS Visio, MS Excel, MS Teams, and MS PowerPoint
