POSITION SUMMARY:

The Lead Traffic Ops Agent coordinates the Export Warehouse Cargo Handlers in the palletizing process with the freight that is available in the Export Warehouse. He/She ensures security against missing or damaged cargo, pallet bumping, pilferage and risking the aircraft and crew's safety.

Job Responsibilities include the following, but not limited to:

  • Coordinate the Export Warehouse Cargo Handlers and organize the pallet building process according to the booked Airway Bills.
  • Identify Hazmat, GCX freight, perishables, etc. with the Warehouse Inventory List.
  • Scan the freight that is going to be palletized and hand the freight to the Export Warehouse Cargo Handlers.
  • Advise Security and Export Warehouse Manager/Supervisor for any opened, damaged, or missing pieces of freight.
  • Make sure that pallets are being built correctly by weight and balance requirements.
  • Contact the Hazmat Agent for Dangerous Goods requirements in the building of a pallet with these materials.
  • Keep daily attendance and production records of the Export Warehouse Cargo Handlers.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

  • High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
  • A self-starter is required, must be able to work effectively with minimal to no supervision.
  • Administration skills and proficient computer skills are mandatory.
  • Min. 3 years of Logistics and Warehouse experience OR Min. 2 years of customer service experience is required.
  • Prior airline/freight forwarding experience is preferred.
  • Identification of HAZMAT Materials and knowledge of proper handling (Preferably).
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos; ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to read, speak and understand English.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide into all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small groups' situations to customers, client and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding carrying out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand, adapt and work with people of various backgrounds and cultures.
  • Uncompromised customer and service minded problem solver.
  • Highly motivated, stress resistant and result oriented.
  • Bilingual English and Spanish is a plus.
  • Must be able to accomplish computerized transactions in PMI, Microsoft Excel, Word, Access, UNIX, Lotus Notre, and Internet Explorer.
  • Possess and maintain a valid Driver License and a driving record from the state of your primary residence that meets Amerijet's insurance standards.
  • Able to obtain SIDA badge.
  • Willingness to work 8-hr shift covering 24/7.
  • Legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position will not have direct reports but may require providing training for new team members.

Language Skills:

The employee must possess good interpersonal and communications skills, be able to effectively present information, respond to questions from managers and co-workers.

Physical Activities and Requirements of the Position:

Sedentary work; sitting most of the time. While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works in an office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Exerts up to 30 lbs. of force occasionally for office supplies and equipment.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to sit; stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms; move about the facility. Some light physical effort is required.

Must be able to work well under pressure. Domestic/International travel is negligible, and overtime is required when necessary.
