Job DescriptionLEAD iOS ENGINEER - Remote

One of The Select Groups clients is seeking to bring on a Lead iOS Engineer. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a creative and interactive sport application. The product is targeted to baseball players and the software is integrated with an iOT device that attaches to baseball bats. Data is compiled in real-time and used by the players to critique and alter their technique.

LEAD iOS ENGINEER REQUIREMENTS:

  • 5+ years of native app iOS development experience with a track record of success in product development and deployment
  • Demonstrable proficiency in Swift and Objective-C
  • Deep understanding of REST APIs, data synchronization protocols/patterns, and user experience best practices
  • Architect a maintainable and testable codebase for a system that integrates classically \"hard to test\" concepts like bluetooth, video, in-app purchases, and user interfaces.
  • Team leadership responsibilities that include sprint/roadmap planning, driving regular management team communications, and leading a small team of mobile developers to achieve the overall development quality and execution goals.
LEAD iOS ENGINEER RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • The Lead Mobile Engineer is responsible for the development and maintenance of native mobile code on the iOS platform - primarily Swift, but also Objective-C. Working closely with the rest of the development team, this person utilizes their knowledge of software development best practices and hardware capabilities in defining and delivering a delightful mobile user experience to our users.
  • Lead development of mobile applications, services, and test suites for iOS
  • Lead iOS mobile development team including sprint planning and management with strong regular communication to internal and external (as required) stakeholders
  • Architect a maintainable and testable codebase for a system that integrates classically \"hard to test\" concepts like bluetooth, video, in-app purchases, and user interfaces.
  • Work with our product management team to create compelling user interfaces using Storyboards, AutoLayout, and native code when necessary
  • Create 2D and 3D data visualizations that give meaning and understanding to our baseball and softball metrics using Charts, OpenGL, and similar frameworks
  • Collaborate with the R&D team to integrate new sensor capabilities and data into mobile applications
  • Assist in execution of personnel planning and professional/technical development of direct reports
  • Promote mobile software development best-practices including continuous integration, accuracy testing & reporting, centralized logging, crash reporting, etc.
  • Effectively engage with customers (coaches, players, and parents) during real-life use of Diamond Kinetics' software and hardware
  • Work closely with management to assess and enhance processes and communication patterns to the benefit of the organization
